1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using sotiny.co.uk (the "Service"), you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to everyone who uses the free image compressor and the related pages on this site.
2. The Service is free and "as is"
The Service is provided free of charge and "as is", without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no promises that the Service will be error-free, that it will meet your particular requirements, or that any given output will be suitable for a specific purpose. You use the Service at your own risk.
3. You keep all rights to your images
You retain all ownership and intellectual property rights in the images and files you process. Because the tool runs entirely in your browser, your files are never uploaded to us (as explained in our privacy policy), so we neither receive nor claim any rights over your content. We do not access, store or reuse your images in any way.
4. Your responsibility for your content
You are responsible for the images and files you process, and for keeping your own backups. You confirm that you have the necessary rights to use any image you process and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law. Please keep the original of any file until you are happy with the result.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and reasonably. In particular, you must not:
- use the Service to process material that is unlawful, or that infringes the rights of others;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer for malicious ends, or otherwise interfere with the Service or the site;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying systems; or
- misrepresent the Service, or use it in any way that could damage, disable or impair it for others.
6. No guarantee of uninterrupted service
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of faults. We may change, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, without notice and without liability to you. Features described elsewhere on the site, including anything on our roadmap, are indications of intent rather than commitments.
7. Third-party dependencies
The site loads certain resources from third-party content delivery networks, for example a WebAssembly encoder library, web fonts and a CSS framework, as listed in our privacy policy. We are not responsible for the availability, performance or policies of those third parties, and their services are governed by their own terms. If one of those services is temporarily unavailable, parts of the tool may not work until it is restored.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and the makers of the Service will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This includes, without limitation, any loss of data, loss of images, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes relating to them or to the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (United Kingdom).
